The pilgrim’s credential is issued by Associaçao dos Caminhos dos Peregrinos in order to declare that the holder is a pilgrim en route. However, it is not mandatory.
The credential costs €2,5 and may be obtained from Associaçao dos Caminhos de Fatima by calling +351 918 839 391, or filling in a form on the Association’s official website.
The credential should be stamped during pilgrimage as to prove that the pilgrim has passed through the different cities. It may be stamped in Churches, Tourism Information Offices, City Halls, Local City Centres, Inns, and other public buildings.
If, on the other hand, you do not wish to obtain the credential, you may use your diary or even a book or notebook to register the places you visit. In any case, keep your credential/diary and open it later in order to remember the moments and places you visited on your way to Fatima.
Infatima is a tourist website where you can search for all the necessary information in order to plan a trip, with Fatima as your main destination. On the other hand, it is also a platform where economic and business agents – direct or indirectly connected to tourism – may promote their business, attract new customers, and maintain current ones.
