An event that breaks cultural barriers and perpetuates traditions.
Different national traditions, and dances of the world took dozens of people to the market of Fatima that hosted during two days the International Folklore Festival.
There are already 40 editions of this event organized by the Casa do Povo de Fátima Folkloric Group that, on stage, through dances and songs, recreates the time of the little shepherds.
Although there are some similarities, Portuguese folklore is different from region to region and it is for this reason that the hosts of the event are keen to invite groups from north to south of the country. In addition to the national diversity, the dances of the world are brought by foreign groups.
In the 40th edition of the International Folklore Festival the meeting of cultures was provided by the brilliant performances of the Casa do Povo de Fátima Children's Folkloric Group, the Centro Paroquial e Social de Mindelo Children's Folkloric Group - Porto, Montargil Children's Folkloric Group, "Os Camponeses" D. Maria - Sintra, of the S. Cristóvão de Nogueira de Regedoura Folkloric Group, of the Clube das Arroteias Folkloric Group - Alhos Vedros, of the Ethnographic Group Danças Da Aldeia de Pardilhó - Estarreja and of the Levocan Folkloric Group - Slovakia.
