Information:
The first National Gastronomy Festival took place in 1981, and it brought to Santarem the best restaurants of each region, which in turn chose the traditional specialities of each region for their menus.
The Festival played an important role in preserving the Portuguese gastronomic heritage and is now a consecrated brand among food critics, professionals, and lovers of a good cuisine.
It presents every year an activity-filled programme celebrating and promoting the Portuguese Gastronomic Heritage.
It takes place every year in October at the Municipal Market of Santarem.
